Return of the female model

Today we had the female life model to draw, again using pencil and charcoal. We did a series of quick 30 second poses, followed by a couple of no looking and wrong handed tasks and then some 30 minute poses. We finished off with two 5 minute poses. When I look back over my sketches throughout the weeks I do feel like I have improved. I now know how to set out my drawings properly to get the right proportions and angles, and I ave also found that I prefer the more expression are sketches as a posed to the more clinical detailed drawings.

Life Drawing with Light and Shadow

Today we worked with charcoal to create life drawings using the shadows to show the form of the body. I really enjoyed it and was pleased with my results. I think I'm better at the more creative and unusual pieces instead of the straight forward drawing of the model.
